The Ady Symonds '96 Most Valuable Sailing Award is presented to the William Smith sailor who is voted most valuable by her teammates.

The award honors the first Heron sailor to earn All-America honors. Symonds was tabbed an ICYRA All-American crew after helping HWS capture the 1996 America Trophy and a berth in the ICYRA Coed Dinghy National Championship. She was inducted into the William Smith Hall of Honor in 2003.
