Chelsea Snyder joined the William Smith field hockey coaching staff prior to the 2011 season. The former Heron works with the team's goalkeepers.

In field hockey, Snyder helped William Smith go 45-29 during her career, capturing the 2007 Liberty League regular season and tournament championships. The recpient of the 2011 Melissa Mulliken ’80 Award for participation, leadership, and off-field endeavors, Snyder played in 32 games during her career, sporting an 8-2 record with a 1.51 goals against average and a .773 save percentage. Snyder represented her teammates on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was a SHAPE peer educator.

Off the field, Snyder volunteered with the Geneva Boys & Girls Club, Geneva Heroes, and the Geneva Community Lunch program. She was also an active participant and organizer of the campus’ annual Relay for Life.

As a senior, Snyder also shared the team’s Beverly Singer ’74 Field Hockey Coach’s Award. A year earlier, she earned the Susan Bassett Award for excellence in academics, athletics, and leadership.

A four-time NFHCA National Academic Squad honoree, Snyder made three consecutive appearances on the Liberty League All-Academic Team.

Snyder graduated from William Smith in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in anthropology and sociology and Asian studies. She is a full-time youth care professional with Hillside Family of Agencies in Varick, N.Y.
