Rhonwen Peters joined the Heron field hockey coaching staff prior to the start of the 2014 season. She came to William Smith following three seasons as an assistant field hockey coach at Muhlenberg College.

As a member of the Mules' coaching staff, Peters helped turn a program that went 2-14 the year before she arrived into a 9-7 squad in 2012 and, last season, Muhlenberg earned its first Centennial Conference playoff berth in six years. She also served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach and an assistant game day manager for the Mules. A 2011 graduate of American International College with a bachelor's degree in psychology, Peters was a four-year starter on the Yellow Jackets' field hockey team. She helped AIC improve in each of her four seasons culminating in a record-breaking senior season. Serving as a team captain in 2010, Peters and the Yellow Jackets compiled a 14-8 overall mark, a program record for wins in a season, advanced to the championship game of the Northeast 10 Tournament and made the program's first ever NCAA Division II Championship appearance. In 78 career games, the midfielder logged six goals and 12 assists.

Peters works fulltime for the Hobart and William Smith Colleges' Office of Admissions as the information technology coordinator.
