Garvey returned to his alma mater in 2018 to serve as the receivers coach. He spent the past three seasons at Endicott Colege, coaching the offensive line and coordinating the run game.

Garvey mentored six Gulls who earned all-conference honors. He moved to Endicott after spending one season as the offensive line coach at Shenandoah University. With the Hornets, he oversaw a line that ranked 14th in the nation in sacks allowed per game (0.8) and helped the SU rank 20th in the nation in rushing yards per game (248.0).

The native of East Aurora began his coaching career as the assistant offensive line coach for the Statesmen in 2013. Hobart ranked in the top 30 in the nation that season in both rushing offense (27th, 238.2 yds/g) and sacks allowed (24th, 0.82). Garvey and the rest of Hobart’s coaches were voted the 2013 Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year.
 
Garvey graduated from Hobart in 2013 with a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies.
 
A 2012 D3football.com third team All-American, Garvey played left guard for Hobart, serving as a team captain as a senior. He helped the Statesmen lead the Liberty League in total offense (414.3), clearing the way for the nation’s No. 26 rushing offense (237.2 yds/g) while ranking 10th in the nation in sacks allowed (0.62/g). A three-year starter, Garvey was twice named to the All-Liberty League teams, including first team recognition in 2012. Hobart was 30-10 during his playing career, winning two Liberty League Championships with two NCAA playoff appearances.
