Jack Pfohl '17 joined the coaching staff at his alma mater this year as a receivers coach. An all-star wide receiver for the Statesmen, he graduated from Hobart in May with a bachelor's degree in economics.
A native of Cicero, Pfohl was an ECAC North All-Star and an All-Liberty League selection following his senior season. In 2016, he caught 58 passes for 705 yards and nine touchdowns. Pfohl was third in the conference in receptions per game and receiving TDs. On Hobart's single season lists, his receiving TD total is fifth, his receptions are seventh, his receiving yards are ninth and his receptions per game average (5.27) is 14th.
Pfohl had at least two receptions in every game last year and tied the Hobart game record with 12 catches for a career-high 197 yards in the win at WPI. His game-winning 57-yard touchdown against Merchant Marine was the 2016 GEICO Play of the Year.
In 34 career games, Pfohl had 127 receptions for 1,438 yards and 12 touchdowns. He is sixth on Hobart's career receptions list, eighth in career receptions per game (3.74), tied for 11th in career receiving touchdowns and 12th in career receiving yards.
During his collegiate career, Pfohl and his classmates helped Hobart post a 38-7 record (.844), including a 25-3 mark against the Liberty League. He helped the Statesmen capture three Liberty League Championships and earn three NCAA Championship bids. In Pfohl's sophomore season, Hobart went 12-1 and reached the NCAA quarterfinals.
