An all-star outside linebacker for Hobart from 2006 to 2009, Ryan Robinson will spend the 2010 season coaching the position he once played.
A captain last season, Robinson lead the Statesmen to their 13th consecutive winning season, helping the defense lead the Liberty League in scoring defense and total defense. He finished second on the team in tackles with 57, including a team-high 10 tackles for loss, on his way to first team All-Liberty League honors.
In 2008, Robinson posted 54 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and tied for first on the team with three sacks. The previous season, he was fourth on the team in tackles with 50. Over his career, Robinson appeared in 37 games for the Statesmen, starting 31 in a row to cap his playing days. He was named All-Liberty League honorable mention in 2007 and 2008. The native of Johnson City, N.Y., closed out his collegiate career by playing in the inaugural Division III Football Senior Classic.
An all-star in the classroom as well, Robinson was named to the National Football Foundation’s Hampshire Honor Society and made three consecutive appearances on the Liberty League All-Academic Team.
Robinson graduated with a degree in environmental studies in May. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in environmental science from RIT.
