Elder returns to his alma mater for a fifth season, serving as a defensive assistant coach following four seasons as a linebacker.
Over the past four years, Elder played in 28 games, recording 43 tackles. He was named a team captain and was a projected starter for his senior season, but a preseason injury kept him off the field for the entire year. He remained an active and vocal member of the team, leading his teammates in the locker room and on the sidelines.
Elder and his classmates led Hobart to a four-year record of 34-8, the most wins by a graduating class in the program’s 120-season history. They won three Liberty League Championships and made three straight NCAA playoff appearances, reaching the quarterfinals in 2012.
Elder earned a bachelor’s degree in political science in May of 2014. He also works in the HWS admissions office.
