Dennis Pysnack has provided the Hobart basketball program with stability and continuity for over three decades. He is the only Statesman, player or coach, to be associated with eight of the program's nine postseason appearances, including all four NCAA tournament bids.
Pysnack plays an integral role in scouting and local recruiting as well as in practice preparation and execution on a daily basis. His efforts to engage and communicate with Hobart basketball’s strong alumni base are unparalleled. During the annual alumni game in 2018, a group of former players dedicated a locker in the Bob Ford ’54 Team Room in Pysnack’s honor.
Over the past decade, Pysnack has earned five Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year awards under four different head coaches: Rich Roche ’87 (2004-05), Izzi Metz ’98 (2009-10), Mike Neer (2011-12 & 2013-14), and Tim Sweeney (2017-18). He has been on the bench for all six of Hobart’s 20-win seasons, seven Liberty League regular season titles and all three Liberty League Tournament championships.
A gifted clinician, Pysnack has been active in the area junior leagues throughout his career. He is consistently giving back to the local community via clinics and camps during the spring & summer months.
