Chimienti joined Hobart College ice hockey staff prior to the start of the 2020-21 season. He will work with Hobart's goalies.
A four-year member of the hockey team, Chimienti graduated from Hobart in 2016. He finished his career with a 31-13-5 overall record with a .921 save percentage and a 2.42 goals against average. He is fifth on the program's all-time list in wins and save percentage and seventh in GAA. As a senior, Chimienti was named an AHCA East second team All-American and a third team All-American by D3hockey.com. He was 11-3-2 with a 1.71 GAA and a .946 save percentage. Chimienti ranked second in the nation in save percentage and eighth in GAA. His .946 save percentage is still Hobart's single-season record.Â
An economics major, Chimienti was a three-time ECAC West All-Academic selection.Â
Following his Statesmen hockey career, Chimienti played four seasons in France. He spent the 2016-17 season with Les Remparts de Tours. Chimienti was named the League's Goalie of the Year and was an All-Star Team selection. After a year with Les Corsaires de Dunkerque, he played the last two seasons with Les Jokers de Cergy.Chimienti was named to the All-Star team both seasons with Cergy.Â
Chimienti has been instructing goaltenders for 15 years and for the past four years he has implemented regular goalie training sessions for in minor hockey associations in France. He believes that creating a coach student bond is important in the learning process. Having learned from many different goalie coaches and of various schools of thought in the goaltending position, Chimienti recognizes the importance of being able to adapt as much as a coach as the player. He has worked as a private goalie coach since 2005. In his four seasons in France, Chimienti worked with the minor league teams in Tours, Dunkerque and Cergy. In 2020, he became a co-owner of CC Hockey Inc, a Montreal, Quebec, based company which provides hockey services to elementary and high schools, and the minor hockey association in Montreal.Â
