Tom Mariano

Tom Mariano returns for his second season as the assistant hockey coach. Last season, he helped Hobart post the program's highest winning percentage (.679), while earning its third NCAA Tournament appearance in the past five seasons.

Mariano’s coaching experience includes a three-year stint at the Tilton School, one season at Northfield (Vt.) High School and one at Norwich University. He also has been an integral part of the Elite Hockey Training Centers at Norwich and Dartmouth since 1999.

At Tilton School, Mariano was an assistant coach for the boy’s varsity hockey team, was the head coach of the girl’s varsity soccer squad, and assisted the Ram’s baseball team in 2005. Additionally, Mariano worked in the learning center as a tutor, and was responsible for recruiting student-athletes for the soccer and hockey programs. In 2007, the school’s admissions office and Board of Trustees recognized him for his role in the advancement of Tilton School through his superior recruiting efforts.

Mariano graduated from St. Michael’s College in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He was a four-year member of the Purple Knights’ ice hockey team, and served as co-captain the year SMC won the ECAC Division II Championship.
