Jeremy Hirsch

  • Title
    Assistant Coach

Jeremy Hirsch joined the Hobart Lacrosse coaching staff as an assistant coach before the 2013-14 season. He came to Geneva following one season as an assistant coach at Hampden-Sydney College in Farmville, Va.

In 2016, Hirsch's charges led the nation in man-down defense (.776) while helping the Statesmen win their first NEC tournament championship. A year earlier, the Hobart defense allowed 9.24 goals per game, the fourth lowest GAA since the program moved to Division I. Hirsch has coached three all-conference selections, including defenseman Arik Andreen who became Hobart's first defensive first team All-NEC pick in 2016.

At Hampden-Sydney Hirsch worked closely with the Tigers’ defense and oversaw the program’s strength and conditioning program. He helped Hampden-Sydney to an 11-6 overall record that included a 12-8 upset at then No. 13 Lynchburg. The Tigers were third in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and 32nd in the nation in scoring defense last season.

Hirsch’s coaching career began as an assistant at Malvern Preparatory School in Devon, Pa. As defensive coordinator for the Friars in 2012, his charges gave up more than nine goals only twice during the 18-game season while limiting eight opponents to five goals or fewer.

A 2010 graduate of Princeton, Hirsch holds a bachelor’s degree in history. The four-year letter winner and three-year starter on defense served as the Tigers’ sole captain as a senior, which coincided with Raymond’s first season as Princeton’s defensive coordinator. Hirsch helped Princeton capture a share of the Ivy League Championship in 2009 and 2010 and led the Tigers to the 2010 Ivy League Tournament title. He earned the 2010 Higginbotham Trophy, presented by Princeton University for outstanding play, distinguished sportsmanship, and gentlemanly influence.
