Four-time Major League Lacrosse All-Star Peet Poillon joined the Hobart lacrosse coaching staff prior to the 2014 season. He serves as the Statesmen’s offensive coordinator.

In his first five seasons with the Statesmen, Poillon has coached six All-NEC attackmen, including 2017 NEC Player of the Year Frank Brown, 2016 NEC Rookie of the Year Chris Aslanian and 2015 first team All-NEC pick Alex Love.

Under Poillon's direction, Hobart scored 191 goals in 2017, the most since the program moved to Division I in 1995. The team's 11.94 goals per game average was the highest since 1998 and represented a nearly three goal per game improvement over the previous season.

In 2016, while Hobart produced its first 10-win season since 1994, Poillon's offense scored 157 goals, the most for Hobart since 2004 (164). The Statesmen's 9.24 goals per game average was nearly a one-goal improvement over the 2015 season. In his second season at Hobart, Poillon's extra-man offense scored on 39.4 percent of its chances, a marked improvement over 2014's success rate (.333).

Poillon was drafted by the Boston Cannons out of college and later signed with the Chesapeake Bayhawks. In his second season with the Bayhawks, he was selected to his first All-Star Game and helped Chesapeake win the 2010 MLL Championship. In 2011 and 2012, Poillon played for the Denver Outlaws, earning All-Star honors both year. He was traded to Charlotte during the off-season. One of the Hounds leading scorers in 2013, Poillon helped Charlotte secure a spot in the four-team MLL Playoffs in the franchise's second season. He was traded back to Chesapeake during the offseason.

Poillon's coaching resume includes assistant coaching roles at the University of Maryland-Baltimore County and the University of Delaware. Poillon was a volunteer assistant with the Blue Hens this past spring, performing a wide-range of duties including analyzing and breaking down video of opponents and implementing the offensive system for the scout team.

Poillon also has served as a head coach, leading the boys’ varsity team at Seneca Valley High School in Harmony, Pa., for two seasons. He guided his alma mater from an 8-10 record in his first season to a 17-2 mark and the 2012 WPIAL Division I Championship.

Poillon began his coaching career as a student assistant at UMBC while completing his bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship in sports and interdisciplinary studies. His collegiate playing career included seasons at Howard Community College (2 seasons), Ohio State (1), and UMBC (1), but consistent throughout his stops was his excellent play on the field. In both of his seasons at HCC, he was a team captain, earning first team All-America honors as well as conference offensive player of the year accolades. At OSU, Poillon garnered first team All-Great Western Lacrosse League honors as well as All-America honorable mention, helping the Buckeyes reach the NCAA quarterfinals. With the Retrievers, he earned first team All-America East, second team All-America and USILA Scholar All-America awards and returned to the NCAA tournament.

Poillon is the founder and CEO of Low and Away Lacrosse which, since 2009, has offered lacrosse instruction in the form of camps, clinics, and club teams with locations in Pittsburgh and Lancaster, Pa.
