Gilbertson rejoined the Hobart soccer staff in August of 2018.
This is Gilbertson's second stint on the sidelines with the Statesmen. He was Griffin's first assistant coach at Hobart serving with him for four seasons. During that time, Gilbertson helped guide the Statesmen to a 37-35-8 overall record. Hobart's coaching staff was named the Upstate Collegiate Athletic Association's Coaching Staff of the Year in 2003 after finishing the year with a 14-7-1 record.
Gilbertson followed Griffin to Hobart from Plymouth State. He was a three-year captain for the Panthers and served as an assistant coach for one season.
Gilbertson previously served as head coach for Nazareth College from 2004-15. He led the Golden Flyers to their only two NCAA Tournament berths in program history reaching the quarterfinals in 2006. Following the 2016 season, Gilbertson was named the Northeast Region Coach of the Year by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Gilbertson also is the Western New York Flash Academy Head Coach and the junior academy coach.
