Koivumäk joined the HWS Squash programs in January of 2023. She is the progam's first graduate assistant coach.
Koivumäki graduated from St. Lawrence University in 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in government. She was a four-year member of the Saints’ squash team, posting a career record of 34-24. A native of Helsinki, Finland, she was a three-time All-Liberty League pick and was named the Liberty League’s Player of the Year as a first-year. Koivumäki posted a career-best 15-5 record during her senior year.
Koivumäki excelled in the classroom as well. She was a two-time Liberty League All-Academic pick and was named a College Squash Association Scholar-Athlete as a senior. Koivumäki was inducted into St. Lawrence’s Chi Alpha Sigma honor society.
Last April, Koivumäki was selected to represent Finland in the 2022 European Team Championships in Eindhoven, Netherlands. Finland finished eighth.
