Weldon joined the Hobart tennis staff in August of 2017. He will serve as a volunteer assistant coach for the Statesmen while pursuing his PhD in Plant Pathology and Plant-Microbe Biology at Cornell University.Â
Weldon graduated from Butler University with a degree in biology. While at Butler, he was a four-year member of the Bulldog's tennis team and was named an ITA Scholar Athlete all four years. Weldon was voted second team All-Atlantic 10 Conference, during his sophomore year, he was a team best 21-11 in singles play. Weldon also compiled a team best 15 doubles victories in his sophomore campaign. He led Butler to a fifth place finish in the Big East his junior and senior seasons. Weldon played all four season at #1 doubles, posting a 57-62 career record. He was an 11-4 in dual matches his senior year.Â
Prior to heading to Butler, Weldon was a two-time doubles state champion and led his team to the OHSAAÂ Division I State Title as a junior. He was also a five-time National Open Doubles Champion.Â
