Tim Riskie became a member of the Hobart College coaching staff prior to the start of the 2011-12 academic year as the head coach of tennis and squash. He joined the Statesmen following two seasons as an assistant men's and women's tennis coach at Allegheny College.

During his first season at Hobart, Riskie broke the Hobart tennis record for wins by a rookie head coach. His Statesmen posted a 17-5 record, matching school record for wins in a season set in 2003-04. Riskie guided Hobart to an eight-match winning streak during the spring season, the longest winning streak by the Statesmen in over a decade.

The 2011-12 team excelled both on the court and off. In addition to three Statesmen earning All-Liberty League honors, six Hobart men earned a spot on the Liberty League All-Academic Team while Walter Green became just the second Statesmen tennis player to be elected an Academic All-American®.

Riskie's charges have received a total of 31 All-Liberty League awards in his time at Hobart, including the last two Liberty League Rookie of the Year Awards. His team has had 24 Liberty League All-Academic Team members and 19 ITA Scholar Athlete selections.

Last season, the Statesmen compiled a 15-5 record, including a 6-1 record in the Liberty League. Hobart earned the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. The Statesmen fell in the championship match to Skidmore. Riskie and his assistant Dave Dewey were voted the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year.

At Allegheny, Riskie helped the Gator women improve from 5-16 in his first season to 13-9 in 2011-12. Riskie came to the Allegheny staff following a year as a tennis instructor at Ron Jaworski’s Riverwinds Golf and Tennis Club in West Deptford, N.J. He also completed a marketing internship with the U.S. Tennis Association Middle States in 2009.

Riskie’s professional career began as a graduate assistant men’s and women’s tennis coach at Drexel University in 2006. With the Dragons, he planned on-court practices and conditioning sessions as well as assisted in player development and recruiting. In 2008, Riskie earned a master’s degree in public communication from Drexel.

A former Division III student-athlete, Riskie was a four-year member of the tennis team at Washington (Md.) College. The 2004 ITA Scholar-Athlete helped the Shoremen to four straight NCAA tournament appearances, three Centennial Conference championships, and to a No. 15 national ranking in the final poll of the 2005-06 season. Riskie and his doubles partner ended the 2004-05 season ranked 20th in the nation, and a year later moved up to No. 11.

A two-time all-conference selection for his doubles play, Riskie also garnered All-CC praise in singles in 2006. He played in every singles and doubles spot in the Washington lineup, excelling at No. 1 doubles where he registered a 23-7 (.767) record during his junior and senior seasons. Riskie served as a team captain during his senior year and shared Washington’s MVP award that season. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business management and computer science.

A Professional Tennis Registry certified professional, Riskie is also an avid squash player.
