BreLynn Nasypany ’11 joined the William Smith soccer staff as the head coach of the junior varsity program prior to the start of the 2011 season.

Nasypany rewrote the William Smith soccer record books during her four years as a Heron. She ranks second on the all-time list with 138 career points and second all-time with 53 career goals. Nasypany also tied for second with 32 career assists. In her senior season, she led the Liberty League in goals (18), assists (13), and points (49), the latter two are Heron season records.

In her four years, William Smith posted a 65-9-12 overall record and a 22-0-6 mark in Liberty League play. The Herons captured four straight Liberty League titles and made four straight NCAA Tournament appearances including trips to the NCAA semifinals in 2008 and 2010.

Nasypany led the William Smith offense for four seasons, and started every game she played in. She was selected the 2010 D3soccer.com Forward of the Year and a three-time NSCAA All-American. Nasypany garnered all-region and first team all-league honors every season, and was named the 2010 Liberty League Offensive Player of the Year. She also earned a spot on the 2010 NCAA All-Tournament Team. Nasypany was named the 2007 Liberty League Rookie of the Year and the 2008 Player of the Year. She received the Winn-Seeley Award for her achievements in service, leadership, athletics, and academics as well as the soccer team’s Ashley M. Kent ’07 Soccer Coach’s Award as a senior.

Off the field, the psychology major was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), serving as president twice. Nasypany also represented the Herons on the campus’ Committee on Athletics and on the Liberty League SAAC. Additionally, she attended an NCAA Leadership seminar.
