Matt Oswalt joined the William Smith coaching staff during the 2022-23 season and brings over 20 years of coaching experience to the team.
Oswalt has spent the last 13 years as a head coach and co-founder of the New York Royals AAU girls’ basketball club based out of Syracuse. He also spent time as the assistant coach for the varsity, junior varsity, and modified girls’ basketball teams at Bishop Ludden Jr/Sr High School from 2015-17.
Oswalt was a volunteer recruiter for the men’s and women’s basketball teams at his alma mater, Roberts Wesleyan College from 1998-2002. He graduated from RWU in 1994 with a B.S. in Business Administration and a minor in Psychology while playing four years of basketball for the Redhawks.
In addition, Oswalt maintains a USA Basketball Gold Coaching license and is a member of the Positive Coaching Alliance.
