Flaherty joined the William Smith lacrosse coaching staff as a part-time assistant coach at the start of the 2017-18 academic year.
Flaherty was a four-year member of the Heron lacrosse team, graduating from William Smith this past May with a bachelor's degree in sociology and education. The IWLCA first team All-American will also be working on completing her master's of art in teaching at the Colleges this year.

The 2017 Liberty League and ECAC North Offensive Player of the Year finished her senior season with career-highs in goals, assists, points, draws, ground balls and caused turnovers. She led the team with 49 goals. Flaherty ranked second with 36 draws and third with 57 points and added 25 caused turnovers and 43 ground balls.

Flaherty played in 74 career games at William Smith notching 96 goals and 16 assists for 112 points. She also contributed 132 ground balls, 107 draws and 79 caused turnovers. Flaherty finished her lacrosse career ranked fourth on the Heron all-time list for draws and tied for fifth in career caused turnovers.

Flaherty was a two-year member of the lacrosse team's leadership group and served as a captain in 2017. She was a part of William Smith Athletics' Core Leadership Program for three years. Flaherty has worked as an intern in the HWS Admissions Office since May.
