Turco will joined the Herons as a part-time assistant coach in January of 2020.
Turco comes to William Smith after graduating from Johns Hopkins in May of 2016. She was a four-year member of the Blue Jays lacrosse team. Turco played in 60 career games, recording 21 points on 11 goals and 10 assists. She added 20 ground balls, 23 caused turnovers and seven draws. Turco and her classmates helped Johns Hopkins win 50 games and advance to the NCAA tournament three times. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in public health studies.
While at Johns Hopkins, she volunteered with Jump Volunteer, encouraging physical exercise and providing academic support in Baltimore. Turco also volunteered with Harlem Lacrosse, tutoring and teaching the sport of lacrosse in Baltimore.
Since graduating, Turco has served in various coaching roles. Most recently, she served on St. Bonaventure's staff this fall. Last spring, Turco served as the varsity head coach at St. Timothy's (Md.) High School. For three seasons, she was the head coach of the 2020 team at Diamonds Lacrosse Club. Turco spent one season as the junior varsity lacrosse coach for Bryn Mawr lacrosse.
Off the field, Turco worked at H-Wave as a medical sales representative in Baltimore.
William Smith was 17-3 in 2019 with a 10-0 mark in Liberty League play. The Herons earned their fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA tournament, reaching to the second round.
