Lindsay Magro

Magro joined the lacrosse coaching staff in September of 2022. 

In her first three seasons in Geneva, Magro has helped William Smith to a 55-7 overall record. The Herons have posted a 28-1 record in Liberty League games, capturing two regular season and one tournament title. The Herons have made three NCAA tournament appearances, advancing to the national semifinals twice.

In 2025, Magro helped the the Herons to a 14-5 overall record and a 9-0 mark in Liberty League play. William Smith's defensive unit finished 20th in the nation in scoring defense (7.37). 

Magro guided the Herons to a 20-4 overall record in the spring of 2024, including a 9-1 mark in Liberty League play. The Herons advanced to the national semifinals for the second straight year. The Herons defensive unit finished seventh in the nation in scoring defense (7.29) and were fourth in the nation in clearing percentage (.910). 

In her first season in Geneva, Magro helped the Herons compile a record of 21-1 . The Herons went 10-0 in conference play, capturing the Liberty League regular season and tournament titles. William Smith won a program record 21 straight games, advancing to the semifinals of the NCAA tournament. Magro helped mentor the Liberty League's Defensive Player of the Year. The defensive unit finished ninth in the nation in scoring defennse (6.68). 

Magro came to William Smith after spending the previous eight years at the University of Virginia. She served as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the Cavaliers, working primarily as the defensive coordinator. During her time in Charlottesville, she helped Virginia to an 81-64 overall record and seven NCAA tournament appearances. She helped mentor 16 All-Americans, 24 All-Atlantic Coast Conference selections and 34 ACC All-Academic selections.

With the Cavaliers, Magro was responsible for all areas of recruiting and the development of defensive players. She worked to develop defensive schemes and implement adjustments on a game-to-game basis. Magro was the women's lacrosse Team Impact and Community Service Coordinator.

Magro has spent the last seven years as the club director for Cavalier Lacrosse. She was responsible for all team communications and helped with the hiring and development of the club's coaches.

Magro graduated from Syracuse with a bachelor's degree in exercise science. She was a member of the Orange's lacrosse team. Magro was a three-year captain at Syracuse and was voted the 2008 Big East Defender of the Year. She was a second team All-American and helped the Orange win back-to-back Big East titles in 2007 and 2008. During her senior season, she won a then program record 56 draw controls.

Magro earned a master's in sports administration from Canisius College. While in Buffalo, she spent a season as a graduate assistant coach for the Golden Griffins. Additionally, Magro was an assistant coach at RIT.
