McDonald was promoted to assistant athletic director for equipment and operations in November 2021. A member of the HWS Athletics staff since 2010, he has served all of the Statesmen and Herons teams' uniform and equipment needs.
A Geneva native, McDonald is responsible for ordering, issuing, and maintaining uniforms and equipment for Hobart and William Smith’s 29 varsity sports.
A 2005 graduate of SUNY Geneseo with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, McDonald worked at Hobart and William Smith since 2006. He has been an active member of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association since 2010 and became a certified equipment manager in 2014.
McDonald graduated from Geneva High School in 2001. He lives in Geneva with his wife, Jessica, and their children, Shea and Nolan.
