Mackenzie Larsen joined the Hobart and William Smith Athletic Communications staff in August of 2014. He has served as the associate director of athletic communications since 2018.
Larsen assists in the promotion of all 23 varsity sports at Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
Larsen returns to HWS after spending two years as the coordinator of sport administration for officiating at the Eastern College Athletic Conference. With the ECAC, he served as the primary point of contact for the eight officiating bureaus (men’s and women’s basketball, soccer, softball, wrestling, gymnastics, fencing and football). He served as liaison and primary contact to select championships throughout the footprint, including the 2013 Men’s & Women’s Open Swimming and Diving Championships hosted at Harvard University and the 2014 event hosted at the Naval Academy.
In March of 2014, he volunteered as part of the media relations staff at the NCAA Division I Men’s Ice Hockey East Regional in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
Larsen graduated from Hobart College with a bachelor’s degree in media and society in 2012. While on campus, he served as a student assistant in the athletic communications office for a year and a half and provided color commentary for Hobart football and ice hockey teams. Larsen also created and co-hosted a weekly sports talk show on WHWS. He spent is first year on campus as a member of the Hobart rowing team competing with the novice squad.
