In August of 2019, Riskie was named the head coach of the Hobart and William Smith tennis teams. Riskie came to the Colleges in May of 2011, serving as the head coach of the Statesmen tennis and squash teams.
After 14 season at the Colleges, Riskie has guided the Colleges tennis teams to a 190-155 overall record. In 14 seasons with the Statesmen he is 163-97 and is 27-57 with the Herons in five seasons. Between the two teams, Riskie has mentored two ITA All-Americans, three Liberty League Rookies of the Year and 72 all-conference selections on the tennis courts (65 Hobart, 6 William Smith). In 2023, Riskie led junior Sean Pesin to a spot in the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Singles Championships in Orlando, Fla.Â
Riskie's charges have excelled in the classroom as well. He has mentored 69 ITA Scholar-Athletes (47 Hobart, 22 William Smith) and 82 Liberty League All-Academic picks (55Â Hobart, 27 William Smith) and three CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, Walter Green '12 third team in 2012, and Walker Anderson '21, second team in 2019 and first team in 2020.Â
In 2024-25, Hobart posted a 12-9 record with a 6-2 mark in the Liberty League. The Statesmen clinched the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament and ultimately fell to No. 10 RPI in the title match. Three Statesmen earned All-Liberty League honors, while two from Hobart were named to the CSC Academic All-District team. William Smith went 8-11 overall in 2024-25 and posted a 2-6 record in conference play. Three Herons were selected to the CSC Academic All-District team.
In 2023-24, Hobart posted a 14-6 record with a 7-1 mark in the Liberty League. The Statesmen clinched the No. 2 seed in the conference playoffs and ultimately fell to No. 47 Vassar in the semifinal match. Five Statesmen earned All-Liberty League honors. The Herons were 7-13 overall with a 1-7 mark in conference play.Â
In 2022-23, Hobart posted a 16-5 record with a 7-1 mark in the Liberty League. The Statesmen clinched the No. 2 seed in the conference playoffs and fell to No. 33 RPI in the conference championship match. Seven Statesmen earned All-Liberty League honors, while Riskie and staff were named the Coaching Staff of the Year. The Herons were 7-11 overall with a 2-6 mark in conference play. Two Herons earned All-Liberty League honors.Â

In 2020-21, Hobart posted a 6-2 record with a 5-1 mark in the the Liberty League. They advanced to the conference semifinals, falling to Skidmore. Four Statesmen earned All-League honors. The Herons were 1-6 overall with a 1-5 mark in conference play. Two players earned all-conference praise.Â
In 2019-20, Hobart was 4-2 overall and 1-0 in the Liberty League when the season was canceled because of the Pandemic. Walker Anderson and Alan Dubrovsky advanced to the ITA Cup after finishing second at the ITA Northeast Regional. His first season with the Herons was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic.Â
In 2018-19, the Statesmen compiled a 13-7 overall record, as well as a 6-2 record in the Liberty League. Hobart earned the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament. The Statesmen defeated Union College 5-1 in the first round of the Liberty League tournament, and fell to Rensselaer in the semifinals. Three Hobart players earned all-Liberty League honors. Junior Alan Dubrovsky was nationally ranked and was named an ITA Singles All-American. Dubrovsky and sophomore Walker Anderson were named ITA Doubles All-Americans. Anderson was also named to the Google Cloud Academic All-American second team and earned Google Cloud Academic All-District At-Large honors.

In 2017-18, Hobart posted a 13-7 overall record and a 6-2 mark in conference play. The Statesmen earned the No. 3 seed in the conference tournament. Hobart defeated St. Lawrence 5-1 in the opening round of the Liberty League tournament before falling to eventual champion Rensselaer in the semifinals. Five players earned all-Liberty League honors for the Statesmen.

In 2016-17, the Statesmen compiled a 15-5 record, including a 6-1 record in the Liberty League. Hobart earned the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. The Statesmen fell in the championship match to Skidmore. Alan Dubrovsky was named the 2017 Liberty League Rookie of the Year. Riskie was named the Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year following the season.

The Statesmen finished the 2015-16 season with a 9-9 overall record. Hobart was 4-3 in the Liberty League and earned a spot in the Liberty League tournament but dropped its semifinal match to Skidmore. Jonah Salita was named the 2016 Liberty League Rookie of the Year.

In 2014-15, the Statesmen tennis team posted a 10-9 overall record. Hobart earned a spot in the Liberty League tournament but dropped its semifinal match to Skidmore. In 2013-14, the tennis Statesmen posted a 13-10 record. Riskie led Hobart to a 17-5 record in his first season. Hobart was edged 5-3 in the Liberty League semifinals by Vassar that year.

In eight seasons in charge of Hobart’s squash team, Riskie compiled a record of 79-106. He mentored ten all-conference selections. Riskie guided Hobart to 13 wins and the Conroy Cup Championship in his first season. The Statesmen also won 13 matches in 2017-18.

Riskie joined the Hobart coaching staff following two seasons as an assistant men’s and women’s tennis coach at Allegheny College, where he assisted the head coach in all aspects of the program. He helped the Gator women improve from 5-16 in his first season to 13-9 in 2011-12. Riskie came to the Allegheny staff following a year as a tennis instructor at Ron Jaworski’s Riverwinds Golf and Tennis Club in West Deptford, N.J. He also completed a marketing internship with the U.S. Tennis Association Middle States in 2009.

Riskie’s professional career began as a graduate assistant men’s and women’s tennis coach at Drexel University in 2006. With the Dragons, he planned on-court practices and conditioning sessions as well as assisted in player development and recruiting. In 2008, Riskie earned a master’s degree in public communication from Drexel.

A former Division III student-athlete, Riskie was a four-year member of the tennis team at Washington (Md.) College. The 2004 ITA Scholar-Athlete helped the Shoremen to four straight NCAA tournament appearances, three Centennial Conference championships, and to a No. 15 national ranking in the final poll of the 2005-06 season. Riskie and his doubles partner ended the 2004-05 season ranked 20th in the nation, and a year later moved up to No. 11.

A two-time all-conference selection for his doubles play, Riskie also garnered All-CC praise in singles in 2006. He played in every singles and doubles spot in the Washington lineup, excelling at No. 1 doubles where he registered a 23-7 (.767) record during his junior and senior seasons. Riskie served as a team captain during his senior year and shared Washington’s MVP award that season. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business management and computer science.
