After serving as a part-time assistant coach for William Smith volleyball's inaugural season, Parkhurst was promoted to full time for the 2023-24 academic year and will serve as the assistant for the William Smith volleyball team.Â
In 2024, Parkhurst led William Smith to its first ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Women's Volleyball Championship as the Herons earned an at-large bid with a program-best 22-7 overall record. The Herons went 7-1 in the Liberty League to clinch the second-seed in the conference playoffs, where it fell to No. 22 Ithaca in the championship match. Parkhurst and the Herons received votes in the AVCA national poll for the first time in program history and continued to receive votes for 10 straight weeks. Parkhurst mentored five All-Liberty League selections, including the Liberty League Rookie of the Year, three AVCA All-Region First-Team selections, including the Region III Freshman of the Year, and three AVCA All-Americans. She also mentored two Herons who landed on the Liberty League All-Academic team who were also selected to the CSC Academic All-District team.
In her second season with the Herons, Parkhurst helped William Smith to a 15-10 record with a 6-2 mark in the Liberty League to clinch the second-seed in the conference playoffs. The Herons swept Clarkson in the Liberty League semifinals before falling to No. 22 Ithaca in the championship match. Parkhurst served as a mentor to three All-Liberty League selections and two AVCA All-Americans. William Smith also landed five players on the Liberty League All-Academic team as well as two players selected to the CSC Academic All-District team.
In 2022, Parkhurst helped William Smith to an impressive 16-6 overall record and a 6-2 conference mark, which put the Herons third in the Liberty League standings. She served as a mentor to three All-Liberty League selections and the program's first All-American.
Parkhurst came to Geneva after spending one season at the University of Southern Maine as an assistant coach. She helped the Huskies to a 13-win season and played a role in the development of practice plans, assisting with skills coaching and facilitating mental strength training activities to optimize players’ mindsets on and off the court. Parkhurst helped mentor six Little East Conference All-Academic selections and one All-LEC Sportsmanship team pick.
While in Gorham, Maine, Parkhurst also coached the Maine Juniors Volleyball Club where she was a head coach for a U18 travel team. She also served as a head coach for Elevation Volleyball Club, providing instruction to younger players in a development league.
Parkhurst graduated from Hamilton College with a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience. She was a three-year starter as a setter on the Continentals volleyball team, tallying over 1,000 career assists. Parkhurst also played outside hitter. She was a captain for her final three years at Hamilton. In addition, Parkhurst was the president of Hamilton’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee during her junior and senior years.
