Abigail Sarmiento joined the HWS Sports Medicine team before the start of the 2026-27 academic year.
Originally from Rochester, New York, Sarmiento earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Lincoln Memorial in 2024 and a master’s degree in athletic training from Central Florida in 2026. As a graduate student, she developed her skills and knowledge through experiences from scholastic to collegiate to professional sports and with the general public in a physical therapy clinic. Sarmiento spent her first semester working with the teams at Lake Buena Vista High School and worked with the Orlando Solar Bears of the East Coast Hockey League the following semester. Last year, she worked with the football, women’s lacrosse and beach volleyball teams at Stetson.
Sarmiento is a certified and licensed athletic trainers and a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association.
