Redmond joined the Hobart baseball coaching staff in the spring of 2025. He comes to Hobart after serving as a physical education teacher and coach at Western Albemarle (Va.) High School.

Prior to moving to Virginia, Redmond was a long-time educator in the Lansing and Ithaca City school districts. He held many roles in the district, physical education and health teacher, head baseball coach, head football coach, director of athletics and assistant principal. On the diamond, Redmond compiled a career record of 496-112, including 17 league championships, nine Section IV championships and three regional championships.
Remond is a member  of the Lansing Athletic Hall of Fame (2010), the Section IV Hall of Fame (2013) and the Ithaca High School Hall of Fame (2014).
Redmond earned a bachelor’s degree in health education from SUNY Cortland in 1982. He also earned a master’s degree from SUNY Cortland in Health Education in 1989. Redmond was a three-year member of the Red Dragons baseball team. He had a .418 career batting average and was a two-time All-SUNYAC third baseman.Â
