Erica Geremia

Geremia joined the William Smith coaching staff in July of 2024. 

In her first season in Geneva, Germia helped the Herons to a 14-5 overall record. William Smith went 9-0 in Liberty League play, captruing the regular season title. The Herons earned an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament and advanced to the third round. 

Geremia comes to the Herons after spending the past five seasons at Hamilton. She helped the Continentals to a 23-27 record. Geremia served as offensive coordinator while also overseeing the draw specialists. She mentored eight All-New England Small College Athletic Conference selections, including the 2024 NESCAC Defensive Player of the Year. She had four players earn Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association All-American honors. Geremia also served as an assistant strength and Conditioning coach at Hamilton.
 
Prior to her time in Clinton, Geremia spent one season at Colgate. She helped the Raiders reach the semifinals of the Patriot League Tournament for the first time since 2015. Geremia coached four all-league honorees.  She started her coaching career at Washinton and Lee in 2017. She spent two seasons with the Generals helping them to a 35-7 overall record, including a perfect 16-0 record in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Washington and Lee won two ODAC Championships and made two NCAA tournament appearances, reaching the national semifinals in 2017. Geremia helped coach 14 All-ODAC selections, four IWLCA All-Americans and 2 ODAC Players of the Year.
 
Geremia was one of the top offensive players in NCAA history during a four-year career that saw her play two seasons at Cortland and two seasons at Le Moyne. Her 490 career points are sixth-most all-time across all divisions. Geremia is also sixth all-time in assists with 246. She is a four-time IWLCA first team All-American. In 2014 she was named the Division III Attacker of the Year, the following season she was the Division II Attacker of the Year. Geremia was a three-time nominee for the Tewaaarton Award and made four appearances in the national semifinals.
 
Geremia earned a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature from Le Moyne in 2016. She received  a masters degree in sports management from Liberty in 2018. Geremia-Mathers has her USA Weightlifting Sport Performance/Strength and Conditioning certification.
