LaShomb joined the Herons coaching staff prior to the 2024 season as a goalie coach.
LaShomb joins William Smith with a wealth of coaching and lacrosse experience. He has spent the past six years serving a as Co-Head Coach for the Harvest Lacrosse Club in Rochester. He served as the Associate Head Lacrosse Coach for Nazareth from 2011-2017. LaShomb helped the Golden Flyers to an 80-51 record, three Empire 8 championships and four NCAA tournament appearances. He served as a goalie coach and defensive coordinator from 2011-2016 and then was the offensive coordinator in 2017. Prior to Nazareth, LaShomb spent three years as a goalie coach and defensive coordinator at Brockport.
LaShomb graduated from Mercyhurst in 2009 with a Bachelor's of Arts. He was a four-year member of the Lakers' lacrosse team, capturing a national championship in 2007. LaShomb was a three-year captain and a three-time USILA NCAA Division II All-American. As a junior he won the Kelly Award as the Division II Goalie of the Year and earned first team All-America recognition. He was a second team All-American as a sophomore and a junior. Following graduation, LaShomb spent seven years playing professional lacrosse. He spent his rookie season with the Chicago Machine and then played for the Rochester Rattlers.Â
LaShomb earned a Masters of Science in Education from Brockport in 2011. He also works as a teacher in the Canandaigua City School District.Â
