Tim Riskie was named the head coach of the Hobart and William Smith tennis teams in August 2019 after joining the Colleges in May 2011 as the head coach of the Hobart tennis and squash teams. In 15 seasons at HWS, Riskie has guided the tennis programs to a combined 199-163 record, including a 172-105 mark with Hobart and a 27-57 record with William Smith. He has mentored four ITA All-Americans, three Liberty League Rookies of the Year and 76 All-Liberty League selections, and has been named Liberty League Coaching Staff of the Year twice.
In 2025-26, Riskie led Hobart to a 9-8 record and four All-Liberty League selections. Senior Nick Fischer earned First Team honors in singles and doubles, while junior Achilleas Kousaridis earned Honorable Mention recognition in both disciplines. Fischer and Jacob Linares earned ITA All-America honors after winning the ITA Northeast Regional doubles championship and advancing to the semifinals of the ITA Cup, becoming the first Hobart doubles team to earn All-America recognition since 2007. In 2022-23, Riskie guided Hobart to a 16-5 record and a spot in the Liberty League championship match while earning Coaching Staff of the Year honors.
Riskie's teams have also excelled academically. He has mentored 78 ITA Scholar-Athletes, 88 Liberty League All-Academic selections and three CoSIDA Academic All-Americans. Walker Anderson '21 was named a second team Academic All-American in 2019 and a first team Academic All-American in 2020, while Walter Green '12 earned third team honors in 2012.
Before leading the Hobart and William Smith programs, Riskie spent eight seasons as head coach of Hobart tennis and squash. He compiled a 79-106 record in squash, mentored 10 all-conference selections and guided the Statesmen to the Conroy Cup Championship in his first season. Prior to HWS, Riskie coached at Allegheny College and Drexel University and worked as a tennis instructor at Ron Jaworski's Riverwinds Golf and Tennis Club.
A four-year tennis player at Washington (Md.) College, Riskie helped the Shoremen to four consecutive NCAA tournament appearances and three Centennial Conference championships. He was a two-time All-Centennial Conference selection in doubles and earned All-CC honors in singles in 2006. Riskie graduated with a bachelor's degree in business management and computer science and earned a master's degree in public communication from Drexel in 2008. He is a Professional Tennis Registry certified professional and an avid squash player.
