Swagler was the stroke for the silver medal winning varsity eight at the Head of the Genesee. He led the Statesmen to a morning 5-kilometer head race time of 16 minutes, 4.67 seconds that put them fifth out of 17 crews. The Statesmen's afternoon 1.5k sprint time, 4:25.79, coupled with 30-second penalties accessed to Cornell and Marietta, allowed them to move into second place.
