We try to avoid repeat winners of the HWSAthletics.com Athlete of the Week award, but Bonney's weekend performance is impossible to ignore. He led Hobart basketball to a pair of come-from-behind victories, averaging a team-high 34.5 ppg and a team-high 9.0 rpg. On Jan. 4, the Statesmen opened conference play with a 90-85 win at Rensselaer behind Bonney's seventh career double-double. He scored a career-high 40 points and grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds helping Hobart rally from a 16-point deficit. Bonney's 40 points are the most in a game by a Statesman since the 1997-98 season. On Jan. 5, he led Hobart on another comeback, this time wiping out a 10-point deficit for a 67-66 overtime win at Skidmore. Bonney sank a pair of free throws with 2.5 seconds remaining in the extra session to cap a 29-point, 7-rebound performance. Over the weekend, he shot 75 percent from the floor (38-51).
