Leighton posted a 3-1 singles record and a 2-2 mark in doubles in a 3-1 week for the William Smith tennis team. She notched a perfect 3-0 singles record at No. 3 in the Herons' matches in Orlando, Fla., over spring break. Leighton rallied for a 3-6, 6-4, 10-3 win against Grinnell, topped her Hollins opponent 6-4, 6-2 and earned a 6-1, 6-3 victory against Calvin. In doubles action, she teamed with Charlotte Federowicz for an 8-2 win at No. 2 against Hollins. On Sunday, March 24, Leighton paired up with Remy Raevsky for an 8-3 win at No. 2 against Rochester. Leighton is 6-5 overall in singles, including a 4-1 mark at No. 3. She is also 6-5 in doubles this season.
