GENEVA, N.Y.—The William Smith College swimming and diving team defeated Alfred 141-96 this afternoon. The Herons improve their dual meet record to 3-0 on the season.
Junior
Lynn Cutter (St. Gertrude/Richmond, Va.) won three individual events for the Herons, while senior
Meghan Mosher (Livonia/Livonia, N.Y.) won one event and swam a leg on the victorious 400-yard freestyle relay team.
William Smith swept the 200 free. Cutter finished first with a time of 2 minutes, 10.06 seconds, followed by sophomore
Rachel Johnson (Emma Willard School/Clifton Park, N.Y.) and junior Allie Donovan (Catherine McAuley/Portland, Maine). Cutter went on to win the 50 free (0:25.91), and the 500 free (5:34.86) as well.
Mosher placed first in the 100 free with a time of 0:57.3, and led the Heron 400 free relay team of Johnson, sophomore
Charlotte Scott (Columbia/Maplewood, N.J.), and first-year
Ellen Ellison (Our Lady of Mercy/Farmington, N.Y.) to victory with in 4:00.86. Scott also won the 200 IM (2:27.84).
William Smith will be back in the water on Nov. 30, when it competes in the Liberty League Swimming and Diving Championships hosted by Union and Rensselaer.
