GENEVA, N.Y.--The William Smith College swimming & diving team lost its first home meet of 2008, 126-108, to visiting RIT tonight. The Tigers won 10 of the night's 13 events.
Senior
Meghan Mosher (Livonia/Livonia, N.Y.) and sophomore
Laura Patterson (Annapolis/Annapolis, Md.) earned individual victories for the Herons. Mosher won the 100-yard butterfly in 1 minute, 4.8 seconds, while Patterson captured the 100 breaststroke in 1:13.33.
William Smith also finished first in the night's final event, the 200 freestyle relay behind the efforts of senior Lindsay Dickens (Naples/Canandaigua, N.Y.), first-year
Ellen Ellison (Our Lady of Mercy/Farmington, N.Y.), sophomore
Rachel Johnson (Emma Willard School/Clifton Park, N.Y.), and first-year
Lindsay Simonson (New Paltz/New Paltz, N.Y.).
Caitlyn Burr (200 IM, 100 back), Kristen Curtze (50, 100 free), Cat Jones (1M, 3M), and Angie Palomaki (200, 500 free) were all double winners for RIT.
William Smith will swim its final home meet of the season on Jan. 26, when the Herons host Cazenovia in Bristol Pool at noon.
