ITHACA, N.Y.--The William Smith swimming and diving team lost its final dual meet of the season tonight, dropping a 158-74 decision at Ithaca. The Bombers won 10 of the night's 13 events.

First-year Ellen Ellison (Our Lady of Mercy/Farmington, N.Y.) won the 500-yard freestyle 5 minutes, 44.81 seconds for the Herons, while sophomore Laura Patterson (Annapolis/Annapolis, Md.) captured the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.00.

The William Smith 200 free relay team of Patterson, sophomore Jessica Cook (New Paltz/New Paltz, N.Y.), first-year Chelsea Chambers (Potsdam/Potsdam, N.Y.), and sophomore Mamme Daley (Cohasset/Cohasset, N.Y.) won the night's final event in 1:58.85.

The Herons return to the pool on Feb. 9 when they compete in the Skidmore Invitational.
