POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.--Hobart lost to St. Lawrence 8-1 on the second day of the Liberty League Squash Championship. The Statesmen finished the weekend in third place with a 1-2 record.

Junior George Riggs earned the lone Hobart win against the Saints. He prevailed 9-4, 9-4, 9-4 over Pete Montessano at No. 9. Riggs went 2-1 this weekend, suffering his only defeat against conference champion Rochester.

The match was the final contest of 2008 for the Statesmen. They will return to action on Jan. 16, when they take on Stanford in New Haven, Conn.
