GENEVA, N.Y—The William Smith College tennis team edged Hamilton 5-4 this afternoon at the HWS Tennis Center. In doing so, the Herons gave Head Coach
Chip Fishback his 127th dual match victory, which surpasses the previous William Smith standard of 126 set by former coach Mary Hosking. The Herons improve to 2-0 on the year.

Kiara Ocasio started William Smith off with an exciting 9-8 first doubles victory over Continentals Deb Barany and Vrinda Khanna.
The Herons then took four of the six singles matches to come out on top. Sophomore
Casey Kennedy picked up the win at No. 2, with a 7-5, 6-0 win over Laura Brantley, while sophomore
Jess McCue blanked Amelia Mattern at No. 4 6-0, 6-0. At No. 5, first-year
Remy Raevsky earned a close 6-4, 5-7, 6-3 victory over Melissa Mann, and at No. 6, it was sophomore
Katie Serock with the 7-5, 6-3 win vs. Alexandra Arenson.
William Smith will be back in action Oct. 16-18, when the Herons compete in the New York State Championships in Ithaca.
