ANNAPOLIS, Md.—The Hobart College squash team opened its 2009-10 season with four matches at the Navy Round Robin this weekend. The Statesmen lost to Denison and Stanford on Saturday, and fell to Navy and George Washington this afternoon.

The Big Red topped the Statesmen 8-1 with Edgardo Gonzalez picking up the lone victory at No. 9, while the Cardinal won 7-2 over Hobart. Craig Chircop and Alex Khaddar earned the points for the Statesmen at No. 7 and No. 8, respectively.

Hobart lost 9-0 to both Navy and George Washington.

The Statesmen will be back in action on Nov. 21-22, when they travel to St. Lawrence to compete in the Liberty League Tournament. Hobart will begin the tournament with a match vs. Rochester at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
