The Yellowjackets netted seven unanswered points to event the game at 31-all with 1:54 to go, but Greg Stern's three sent the Statesmen into the locker room with a 34-31 lead.

The Yellowjackets opened the second half with another big run, 20-7, to surge back in front by 10. Again, the Statesmen chipped away at their deficit, creeping closer and closer as time wound down. Thompson made the front end of a 1-and-1 to tie the game at 60-60 at the 2:11 mark and made a layup with 1:58 remaining to forge a 62-62 tie.

Roberson completed his scoring with layups on consecutive trips down the floor to put Rochester up 66-62 with 21 seconds left. Thompson made one of two free throws to close the gap to three with 15 ticks left, but Matt Murphy made two free throws two seconds later to complete the scoring and secure the win.
