The William Smith College tennis team defeated Geneseo 7-2 this afternoon at the HWS Tennis Center. The Herons improve to 7-4 overall, while the Blue Knights fall to 13-3 on the season.

Chelsea Rauck (Columbus School for Girls/Bexley, Ohio) led the Herons with a comeback victory at No. 1 singles, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1 over Vivian Cheny. First-years
Casey Kennedy (Lake Forest Academy/Kenilworth, Ill.),
Joanie Hilton (Shady Side Academy/Pittsburgh, Pa.), and
Jess McCue (Oneonta/Oneonta, N.Y.) took third, fourth, and sixth singles, respectively, while sophomore
Melissa Slack (Cape Elizabeth/Cape Elizabeth, Maine) won at No. 5.
In doubles action, Rauck and Hilton downed Cheny and Passik 8-2 at No. 1, and Kennedy and McCue prevailed over Lenet and Olga Dimic 8-3 at No. 3.
The Heorns will be back in action on April 17, when they host Brockport for a match at 7 p.m.
