The William Smith College tennis team downed Brockport 9-0 tonight at the HWS Tennis Center. The Herons improved to 8-4 overall.

Amanda Slack (Cape Elizabeth/Cape Elizabeth, Maine) and
Melissa Slack (Cape Elizabeth/Cape Elizabeth, Maine) started the Herons off with a win at first doubles, defeating Kristin Hemingway and Katelyn Broderick 8-2. First-year
Joanie Hilton (Shady Side Academy/Pittsburgh, Pa.) and sophomore
Carly Sisson (Horseheads/Horseheads, N.Y.) teamed up for the second doubles match. They took a 1-0 advantage vs. Shayla Combs and Alison Kozlowski, before the Golden Eagles retired due to an injury.
Senior
Chelsea Rauck (Columbus School for Girls/Bexley, Ohio) earned a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Hemingway at No. 1 singles, while first-years
Casey Kennedy (Lake Forest Academy/Kenilworth, Ill.) and
Jess McCue (Oneonta/Oneonta, N.Y.) defeated Broderick and Combs at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively. William Smith won matches four, five and six by default.
The Herons will host Cortland in their final home match of the season on April 20 at 4 p.m.
