In its final home match of the season, the William Smith College tennis team cruised past Cortland 9-0 tonight at Bristol Field House. The Herons improved to 9-4 overall.

Amanda Slack (Cape Elizabeth/Cape Elizabeth, Maine), and first-year
Joanie Hilton (Shady Side Academy/Pittsburgh, Pa.) did not allow their opponents a single game at No. 1, No. 2, and No. 4, respectively. First-year
Casey Kennedy (Lake Forest Academy/Kenilworth, Ill.) (6-1, 6-0), sophomore
Melissa Slack (Cape Elizabeth/Cape Elizabeth, Maine) (6-0, 6-1), and first-year
Jess McCue (Oneonta/Oneonta, N.Y.) (6-1, 6-2) posted similar scores in victories at third, fifth, and sixth singles, respectively.
Rauck and Hilton teamed up at first doubles to defeat Alyssa Tretter and Stephanie DiCapua 8-3, while Amanda and
Melissa Slack earned an 8-2 victory over Kristina Lazzaro and Alana Sullivan at No. 2. At third doubles, Kennedy and McCue posted an 8-2 win over Merchon Brower and Lauren Hagen.
The Herons will be back in action on April 22, when they travel to Ithaca for a match at 4 p.m.
