Box Score UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.—The Hobart lacrosse team outshot host Penn State 45-37, but senior goalie Drew Adams made a career-high 24 saves to lead the Nittany Lions to a 10-8 ECAC Lacrosse League victory this afternoon.

The Statesmen (5-4, 1-3) also held the advantage in ground balls (47-38), faceoffs (14-8), and clears (19-of-26 vs. 18-27), but could not solve Adams—who posted nine saves in the first quarter alone—enough to avoid a fourth straight loss.

First-year Chris Pedersen led Hobart with four points (2-2), while junior Tyler Cassell added a hat trick. Senior Jeff Colburn dished out a pair of assists to raise his career point total to 99. Only six Statesmen have recorded 100 career points since the program moved to Division I in 1995.

Junior goalie Max Silberlicht finished the contest with 15 saves, one off his season-high. Sophomore Nunzio Doldo led Hobart's success at the X, winning 11 of 15 faceoffs.

Rob Forster paced Penn State (4-5, 1-3) with a game-high five points on three goals and two assists.

PSU opened the day's scoring, but Hobart answered with back-to-back goals by Cassell and junior Kevin Curtin for its only lead of the day.

The Lions equalized on Mike Toner's extra-man goal that sparked a 4-0 run and sent the home team into the second frame with a 5-2 lead.

Cassell and sophomore Nick Blumer accounted for the only goals of the second quarter, trimming the Statesmen's deficit to one, 5-4, entering the half.

Pedersen tied the game early in the third quarter, but Penn State went back in front just 47 seconds later and built an 8-5 advantage before three minutes had run off the clock. Pedersen completed the third quarter scoring at the 7:17 mark with his 11th goal of the year.

Hobart made it an 8-7 game when Pedersen set up junior Mike Suits' man-up goal with 3:37 remaining in the contest, but the Nittany Lions countered with back-to-back goals for a 10-7 lead entering the final minute of play.

With 32 seconds remaining, Cassell closed out the scoring on the extra man with his team-leading 16th goal of the season.

Hobart finished the game 2-of-5 man up, while Penn State, which began the contest first in the ECAC in extra-man success, was 1-of-4.

The Statesmen return home for their next game, a 1 p.m. faceoff against UMass on April 11.
