Hobart squash splits on Day 1 of round robin

AMHERST, Mass.—The Hobart College squash team split two matches on Day 1 of the Amherst/Mt. Holyoke/Smith Round Robin. The Statesmen defeated Hamilton 5-4, before falling to Amherst 8-1. Hobart now holds a 4-9 overall record.

Sophomore Grant Bercari was the lone Statesmen to post two victories today, playing at No. 9. Against the Continentals, Hobart also got wins from sophomore Corey Kabot, first-year Daniel Pelaez, junior Luke Esselen, and junior Grant Palermo, at Nos. 1-4, respectively.

The Statesmen will be back in action tomorrow, Jan. 24, at the Amherst/Mt. Holyoke/Smith Round Robin. Hobart will square off against Middlebury and Tufts.
