ALFRED, N.Y.--The William Smith swimming and diving team defeated host Alfred University 136-104 this afternoon. Sophomore
Casey Sherwin recorded a pair of individual victories to lead the Herons.
Sherwin won the 200 free in 2 minutes, 8.93 seconds. She also earned a victory in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:05.38. Sherwin also swam a leg for the victorious 200 medley relay team that included first-year
Emily Morosky, first-year
Lia Duffy, and sophomore
Heidi Gordon.
Gordon notched a victory in the 100 butterfly. She posted a time of 1:05.26, finishing .14 seconds ahead of Alfred's Eryn Matich. Duffy earned a first place finish in the 100 breaststroke posting a time of 1:13.09. In the 500 free, junior Caitlin O'Brien finished first with a time of 5:42.93.

Lauren Morosky also secured a win in the 200 free relay, finishing in 1:46.33.
Kylie Smith and Sarah Blair led Alfred with two individual victories apiece. Smith took first in the 1-meter dive and the 3-meter dive, while Blair earned victories in the 50 and 100 free.
William Smith will be back in action on Saturday, Nov. 20, when the Herons take on Cobleskill State in Bristol Pool at 1 p.m.
