William Smith sailing takes third at Atlantic Coast Women's Championship

The William Smith sailing team took third out of 18 teams at the Atlantic Coast Women's Championships in St. Petersburg, Fla. over the weekend. Hobart and William Smith sailors also earned a tenth place finish out of 18 teams at the Atlantic Coast Dinghy Championships in Annapolis, Md.

At the Atlantic Women's Championships, senior Caroline Patten and first-year Jane Rew teamed up for a second place finish in the A Division. They finished in the top three in seven out of their 15 races. In the B Division, the duo of senior Kelly Crane and senior Holly Huffine sailed to a sixth place finish. They posted five top five finishes in their 15 races.

In Annapolis, the team of junior Sam Blouin, sophomore Catherine Pelo, and junior Chris Klevan finished ninth in the A Division. In the B Division, junior Austen Anderson and sophomore Bridget Nannig placed ninth, finishing just two points out of eighth. The pair earned two victories in their eight races.

This marks the end of the HWS sailing team's fall season.
