Tournament Bracket

The William Smith basketball team will return to the Wendy's College Classic against Brockport at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 30, in Geneseo's Kuhl Gymnasium. Formerly the Chase Scholarship Tournament, the Herons return to Division III's oldest tournament for the first time since winning it in 2000.

William Smith (1-2) is the tournament's No. 6 seed, while Brockport (1-1) is the No. 8 seed. Teams were not matched up according to seeds to avoid pairing conference opponents in the first round. Rochester is the No. 1 seed. Roberts Wesley, Geneseo, St. John Fisher, and Nazareth are seed No. 2 through No. 5, respectively. RIT is the No. 7 seed.

The Herons and Golden Eagles have met eight times since 2001 with William Smith holding a 6-2 series lead. The Herons have won three in a row, including a 78-73 win in the second round of the 2008 NCAA Tournament.

The winner of Tuesday's game will take on the winner of Nazareth and Rochester on Thursday, Dec. 2 at 6 p.m. at Roberts Wesleyan. The losers will meet on the same date and time at RIT.
