ANNAPOLIS, Md.—The Hobart and William Smith Colleges sailing team began the spring portion of its 2009-10 schedule over the weekend, placing ninth out of 16 teams at the Graham Hall Team Race Regatta hosted by Navy.

Skippers junior David Thompson, sophomore Sam Blouin, and sophomore Austen Anderson, and crew senior Maria Trainor, senior Meghan Jordan, senior Emily Pelo, sophomore Chris Klevan, and first-year Bridget Nannig combined for a 13-9 overall record at the regatta. The sailors posted a 7-0 mark against the teams in the Silver division.

The HWS sailing team will be back on the water March 13-14, when it competes in the John Jackson Team Race Regatta in Washington, D.C., and the Navy Spring Women's Regatta.
