PITTSFORD, N.Y.—The William Smith College tennis team topped Nazareth 8-1 tonight. The Herons improve to 7-3 overall, while the Golden Flyers slip to 7-9 on the season.
Sophomores
Joanie Hilton and
Jess McCue picked up an 8-6 victory at first doubles, while juniors
Amanda Slack and
Melissa Slack won at No. 2 doubles, 8-3.
All four earned singles victories as well;
Amanda Slack at No. 1, Hilton at No. 2,
Melissa Slack at No. 3, and McCue at No. 6. Senior
Shari Damon defeated her opponent at fourth singles and first-year
Remy Raevsky won at No. 5 to round out the William Smith victory.
The Heron tennis team will be back on the courts on April 7, when it travels to RIT for a match at 4 p.m.
